The Person.
One part dreamer, one part creator and two parts emotionally driven storyteller, Odelia Mathews is a seasoned editor and content curator with a passion for variety. Having a thing for telling a story, she has covered several genres- print titles, business plans, advertising pitches, newsletters, ghost-writing for books, websites, sub-editing... the list goes on.
Her topics of interest and experience span across art, culture, interiors, fashion, beauty, business, health, lifestyle and faith.
She is also a mother to a teenage son who keeps her on her feet with his zest for life.
The Work.
With a career in editing and writing, spanning over 18 years, she has written across the board on various topics. She was part of the core team that launched the UAE’s first social lifestyle magazine, Mondanite in 2003.
As a Contributing Editor and Writer, her work has been published in Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, ELLE Arabia, The Young Catholic Woman, Friday Magazine, The National Newspaper, Villa 88, French Business Council and others. As part of her pro-bono services, she works with the Joy Home for Children, an orphanage based in India.
The Origins.
A graduate in International Business from the University of Wollongong, Odelia sifts effortlessly between B2B and B2C content, tailoring perspectives and voices, tones and angles to elevate the mediocre and evoke a thought, emotion, question or reaction for an engaging and indelible impression on the mind.
When she isn’t writing, she teaches faith and has been involved with children and youth since 2016 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai – UAE. She holds an Advanced Certificate in Catechesis from the University of Dayton, Ohio and is currently working on her first book.

Passionately catholic and inspired by St. Francis of Assisi (Order of Franciscan Seculars, Dubai Chapter), Odelia is a student of the Anugraha Capuchin Institute for Counselling and Psychotherapy, India. When she isn’t studying, catechizing, writing, working or mentoring, she enjoys moderating, speaking and facilitating dialogue on faith with children, teenagers and adults.
